Our optional team program is highly competitive in the state of New Mexico and the United States. We have had several Regional and National Qualifiers over the years, as well as girls who have received college scholarships.
The optional team practices Monday-Saturday. A minimum of 15 hours to 25 hours per week is spent in the gym. We offer early morning workouts for our upper level gymnasts and Saturday workouts to problem solve skills. Our team is very structured, as we place a high emphasis on our strength and flexbility. We teach proper technique in all aspects of strength as well as execution of gymnastic skills.
One of the most notable gymnasts to come from Gold Cup, Tory Wilson, recently finished her very successful college gymnastics career as a Utah Ute. Seven time all-american gymnast and 2014 Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year, she Hit 154-161 (96%) career routines. A truly phenomenal record as a gymnast. She was a 2011 Junior Olympic National Team member and finished 4th in the all-around at the 2011 J.O. Championships.
